Jim Garner
Executive Director

James M. Garner earned degrees in Horticulture from The University of Georgia and Auburn University and completed course work for the Ph.D in Horticulture at The University of Georgia.

Mr. Garner brings to Lockerly 30 years experience in horticulture with extensive exposure to public gardens and arboreta throughout North America and the United Kingdom. A frequent contributor to gardening and trade publications, his accomplishments also include awards from the International Plant Propagators Society, and a 2005 commendation by the South Carolina House of Representatives.

He and his wife, Susan, reside in Eatonton, GA. Both have a special interest and expertise in historic preservation and garden history.

Bradley Roberts
Director of Horticulture

Bradley Roberts holds an Associates Degree in Horticulture Technology with an emphasis in public horticulture. Bradley has worked with a landscape architecture firm in landscape implementation and management and also worked on the horticulture staff at Brookgreen Gardens in Pawleys Island, SC, where he was a student, intern, and gardener.

Greg Eilers
Director of Education

Greg joined Lockerly in March, 2005 and provides enriching horticultural, botanical and environmental science education for our area school children, visitors, and the community through the use of programs, horticultural collection, the use of Lockerly Hall and the Oliver N. Worley Environmental Education Center. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Outdoor Education with a Focus in Environmental Education from Georgia College & State University.

Greg is married to Ruth Eilers.

Katherine Schmitt
Education Specialist
Katie is a recent graduate of Georgia College & State University where she earned a Bachelor degree in Outdoor Education. She assists the Director of Education with our environmental education programs.

Vicki Folendore
Part-time Office Assistant

Vicki joined Lockerly in January 2008 shortly after she retired from a 30-year career with College & State University. She held several positions over the years at the college, the last 19 of which she worked in the Foundation Advancement Services Department where she was in charge of all accounting functions.
Vicki and her husband have a son Wes and a daughter Amy.
